Privacy Policy for LincX Connect
This Privacy Policy explains how LincX Connect collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the LincX Connect app, the lincx.app website, account features, subscription flows, device tools, and support channels.
Our operating principle is data minimization. We collect only the non-VPN information we need to authenticate users, deliver app features, manage subscriptions, protect the service, troubleshoot issues, and comply with applicable law.
Some non-VPN information is required to provide the service, while optional information, such as support attachments and diagnostic logs that you choose to upload when requesting help, remains under your control.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy covers how LincX Connect handles personal information across the user-facing services offered through the app and lincx.app.
It applies to information processed when you create an account, sign in, download the app, purchase or renew a subscription, manage a device, contact support, or browse pages that we operate for LincX Connect.
This policy applies to the LincX Connect app and website unless a separate supplemental notice is shown for a specific feature or channel.
If a purchase, login, analytics, or payment flow is completed through a third-party platform such as an app store, payment processor, social login provider, or customer support tool, that third party may also process your information under its own terms and privacy notice.
If a feature comes with a separate supplemental notice, that notice applies together with this policy for the specific feature.
2. VPN Service Data
For purposes of this policy, VPN Service Data means data transmitted through the VPN connection, including browsing activity, traffic content, DNS queries, and destination domains or IP addresses.
LincX does not collect or log VPN Service Data. LincX does not sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data collected through or in connection with the VPN service for any purpose. This commitment prevails over any conflicting general analytics, marketing, or data-sharing provision in this Privacy Policy.
Limited technical connection information may be processed on your device as necessary to establish and maintain the VPN connection. LincX does not store connection status or VPN Service Data on its backend.
Account, subscription, transaction, website, and support information that you provide separately is not VPN Service Data and is handled only for the specific purposes described below. Optional support files are sent only when you choose to submit them.
3. Information we collect
We collect the non-VPN information described below from you directly, from your device, and from service providers involved in delivering the product.
The categories below reflect the kinds of information commonly involved in operating LincX Connect. Not every category applies to every user, and some items only exist when you actively choose to provide them.
We also generate internal security records, such as session identifiers, verification outcomes, and abuse-prevention signals, to help keep accounts and services protected.
- Account information, such as email address, phone number, username, encrypted password data, verification records, and basic profile settings.
- Subscription and transaction information, such as plan, order identifiers, renewal status, billing country, and payment confirmation metadata. When a third-party processor handles payment details, that processor may store full card or wallet information instead of us.
- Device and service information, such as app version, operating system, installation identifiers, selected language, device identifiers used for account security or feature delivery, and security-related session records.
- Support and communication records, such as emails, support tickets, attachments, feedback messages, and runtime logs, crash details, or other troubleshooting information that you choose to upload when requesting help.
- Website and browser storage information, such as cookies, local storage preferences, and limited interaction data needed to keep pages working, remember language settings, and understand release health or abuse patterns.
4. How we use information
We use the non-VPN information described above to operate the service, secure accounts, deliver entitlements, and communicate with you about the service.
Different teams may use the same underlying account or subscription data for different legitimate product purposes, such as authentication, customer support, fraud review, renewal handling, and issue remediation.
We do not need every user interaction to be individually profiled in order to improve the product. Where practical, we prefer aggregated or event-level operational information over richer personal tracking.
- Create, authenticate, and recover user accounts.
- Deliver downloads, software updates, device entitlements, and subscription benefits.
- Process purchases, renewals, invoices, and payment status updates.
- Detect abuse, secure accounts, prevent fraud, and investigate service misuse or policy violations.
- Respond to support requests, review runtime logs or troubleshooting files that you voluntarily upload, diagnose service problems, and improve product reliability.
- Send essential service communications, such as verification messages, renewal notices, billing updates, and material policy or service changes.
- Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
7. Retention and security
We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, and we apply technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the risk.
Account information is usually kept while your account remains active and for a limited period afterwards to support recovery, billing reconciliation, fraud review, legal compliance, and dispute handling. Transaction records may be retained longer where tax, accounting, or legal obligations require it.
Support records, device records, and any runtime logs or optional diagnostics that you upload for troubleshooting are retained according to business need, security need, and legal requirement. We review retention periodically and delete or de-identify information when it is no longer justified. LincX does not retain VPN Service Data or connection status.
Security measures may include access controls, segmentation, encryption in transit, credential protections, monitoring, abuse detection, and internal review processes. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to protect your credentials and devices as well.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion, object to certain processing, or ask for a portable copy where applicable law grants those rights.
To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing a request. If you ask us to delete information that is necessary to keep providing the service, some or all features may stop working for you.
You may choose whether to upload runtime logs or other optional diagnostics when seeking support, and decide whether to receive certain non-essential communications using controls available in the app, the communication itself, or your device settings.
9. Children and international use
LincX Connect is not intended for children below the age that may legally consent to digital services in their jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly design the service for young children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without proper authorization, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Because we and our providers may operate in multiple countries, your information may be processed outside your home jurisdiction. When that happens, we aim to use safeguards that are appropriate for the transfer and the service involved.
10. Policy updates and contact
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our products, legal obligations, or operational practices evolve.
If we make material changes, we may update the effective date on this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app, website, or service communications.
For privacy requests or questions, email [email protected] and include enough information for us to locate your account securely.
